The Irish Times 13 Jan 1947 reports his death, 'Living for the previous 16 months in the Grand Hotel Tramore, Major John Frederick Barker Kaye while Stationary with the Waterford Hunt near Annestown, he fell from his horse and died a few moments later. He had been in the British Army. His sister Mrs Morton and brother William Arthur George Cusack Kaye came from England for the funeral.' The Waterford Standard of 18 Jan 1947 also has reports. Annestown is a small village also on the coast just outside Tramore. Mrs Morton is his sister Frances Hilda Violet who married in 1921 in England Cecil William Morton. Sir William's second marriage, on 19 Sep 1900 in Westminster, was to the widow Ada C Seeds, nee LeMotte, Born 11 Feb 1841 Guernsey, died 5 Mar 1929 Dublin; she married Robert Seeds QC on 20 Dec 1881 in Jersey (Sandra Counahan emails 1 & 7 Dec 2022)).
