How do I find what I'm
looking for here? There are several ways:
-
If you know the
name of a person you are looking for, try the
Family Tree. Once the tree is loaded, use
Edit>Find in your browser menus (or Ctrl+F) to search for the name or part
of the name in the tree, and then follow the links to the relevant chapter.
You may need to wait a minute for the chapter to load on your computer.
There is an index of 'allied families' at
Appendix F. The fully expanded
table of contents may also be worth searching.
-
If you know the
name of the land or want to know what land was held at a certain date, go to Appendix B
and follow the links from there. There are
maps
at the end of Chapter 16.
-
If you are looking
for something else or don't have any luck with the above, try
searching the whole site.
-
If you just want
to browse, use the
expandable
table of contents, the
fully expanded
table of contents, or Save the
entire pdf file (right click with
your mouse and choose Save as: it is a 5.6 MB file so may take 20 minutes or
more to download over a dialup connection) to your computer and read it offline. Note that the pdf
file does not get updated, so check the relevant chapter via the
table of
contents for any changes or additions.
