The site was created in February 2005, initially to enable web publication of a 3 volume history of the Irish Bomford family (1617 to the present) prepared by Peter Bamford (with an 'a'), son of Evelyn Maude Bamford, ne้ Bomford.
Additions to and links out of the site now provide a comprehensive and up to date history of the Irish Bomfords.
In May 2005 a section was added on the Worcestershire Bomfords.
Information, or requests for information, on Bomfords not known to be part of either the Irish or Worcestershire Bomfords is included in the Other Bomfords part of the site.
