Forbes Auchmuty XE "Auchmuty:Forbes" , Land Agent, fifth son of Captain John Achmuty of Newtownflood and Isabella Stirling his wife

 

Dublin pedigree:   “Forbes Achmuty of Fostertown Co Meath Esq 4th son; will dat 27 Oct 1785 pr’d April 1788: Lands in Newtown Co Meath: buried in Old Church of Lisbrack  M.I.”

 

Will of Captain John of Newtownflood 1726:  “To my fourth son Forbes Auchmuty the Sum of Three hundred pounds sterl.”

 

Helena Forbes Auchmuty:   “Forbes Auchmuty 5th son of Captn John of Newtown Flood lived to the age of 86 unmarried with an unblemished character and good health, he was a sensible and prudent man respected by his own family and acquaintances, he was tall and well looking for his time of life.  I believe my great great grandfather had more sons but I do not recollect having heard of them.

Isabella  his eldest daugter married a Mr Parrott of the County Cavan of good fortune.  She had 4 daughters and a son, he was killed by a shark (which is in these seas uncommon bathing at Kingsend”

 

Bessie Auchmuty quoted in TGA p 53:  “Cap’n John had a son Richard and another Forbes both lived to a good old age and died unmarried”

 

Will: dated Oct 1785 a copy exists in the Wiltshire and Swindon Record Office ref: 1040/101/33.
