The Irish Bomfords
Search
This search function uses a free script provided by JavaScript Kit and uses Google to perform the search.
Note: this search engine is provided by a third party and includes advertising of their choice. The advertising is nothing to do with Bomford.net.
If you get a blank Google search page when you try to search, then you may need to 'allow blocked content'. That will let the Search script run.
To find a specific term, put your term "in double quotes". To insist that a +particular word be found in each result, put a + sign in front of the word; to exclude results with a -particular word, put a - sign in front of the word.
This search function looks for occurrences of a word, number of words or phrase in www.bomford.net and all of its subsidiary pages (not just the Irish Bomfords pages). The search may help you find what you are looking for if the word or words do not occur too often on the site. It could be useful in determining that a name is not on the site.
Note that in many instances references in the texts to children of Bomford families will have only the first name or names, not the surname, so a search for "Fred Bomford" might turn up nothing, but a search for just Fred will find what you are looking for. On the other hand, a heading may include the surname, so a search for "Fred Bomford" may take you to the principal entry.
Note also that given names seem to get reversed and spelt variously at times in the records: so search for Hilda Grace as well as Grace Hilda within a document. And for Ann as well as Anne, Elinor as well as Eleanor etc.
If you go to a page you may need to use your browser's search function (eg Ctrl+F or Edit>Find) to find what you are looking for within the page.
