Bengal Baptisms: “4 February 1781 John son of Lt. Col. Arthur Ahmuty & Ursula his wife” IOR Ref: N/1 Vol 2 Folio 386  

 

Marriage Licence Bonds, National Archives Dublin: “1812 John Ahmuty Esq of the Honorable the East India Company’s Civil Service on the Bengal Establishment and Caroline Warren of the Parish of St Michan, Spinster, 9th day of October 1812  MLB 1812”

Before his marriage in 1812 to Caroline Warren, the records show John had had a number of children.  Since the name of the mother of each is not given they were perhaps born out of wedlock.

Bengal Baptisms, Marriages, Burials gives the following five children: -

1. Frances Ahmuty daughter of John Ahmuty Esq.
2. Arthur Ahmuty son of John Ahmuty Esq
3. Thomas Ahmuty son of John Ahmuty Esq.
4. Robert Ahmuty son of John Ahmuty Esq.
5. Mary Ann Ahmuty daughter of J Ahmuty of the civil service

John and his wife Caroline  had two sons and two daughters:

1. East India Register: “Birth 20 Oct 1814  the lady of John Ahmuty Esq. of a still born child”
2. John A’hmuty
3. Warren A’hmuty,
4. Caroline who married Capt Carey
5. Jemima.
