Transcription:
A memorial of marriage articles dated the ninth day of December one thousand seven hundred and seventy one between
Will North Coole in the Kings county gent of the first part
Elie North first son of the said William North of the second part and
Daniel Homan of Drumcooly in said county gent and Margt Homan youngest daugr of the said Danl Homan of the third part
reciting as therein is recited and
reciting a marriage then intended shortly to be had and solemnized between the said Elie and Margt
by which said marriage articles for the considern therein mentioned
he the said William North did for himself his exors admrs and assigns did covenant with said Elie North his exors admrs and assigns to give unto said Elie before the sealing of said articles the sum of five hundred pounds the receipt whereof is thereby acknowledged
and also agreed to give unto said Elie North the sum of twenty pounds yearly during the lease of Ballyowen provided the lease of Coole shall last so long or provided said Elie North sh’d hold the said lands at Ballyowen situate in the half Barony of Philipstown and Kings county
and also covenants that said Elie shall immediately after the decease of Rachel North said Elie’s mother take the lands of Togher togr with the rents and profits thereof to his own use during the continuance of the lease thereof
and by said articles for the considern therein also mentioned the said Daniel Homan covenanted as therein mentioned to give the sum of three hundred pounds and as for the marriage portion, with his said daugr unto the said Elie the receipt whereof is thereby also acknowledged
and said Danl further convenants as therein mentioned in case said Margt should have issue of said intended marriage in such case said Danl shod by some instrument in writing or by his last will and testament as therein mentioned lease said Elie the sum of one hundred pounds to be payable out of the effects both real & personal whereof said Danl shod die seized or possd of and in case of no issue said Danl might dispose of said one hundd pounds as he thought proper
which said articles is witnessed by Philip Sherlock of Clonuffe, Co. Kildare, Gent and James Ridgeway of Dublin gent
